Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

You will be asked to fill out some paperwork before your first visit. These forms are available on our website here. You will be advised on which forms need to be completed when you schedule your appointment.

Your first visit will last about 60 minutes. During this visit we will spend time gathering your history to help identify how to best meet your needs. My goal is to end the first visit with a plan for your therapy journey moving forward.

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY

Everyone’s therapy journey is unique to them. While there is no set amount of time or number of sessions until therapy comes to an end, we will work together to determine the length of time that is best for you. The length of therapy will largely depend on the issues you are seeking to address and how much work you do between sessions.

DO YOU WORK WITH INSURANCE?

Yes. I am in-network with many insurance plans. Below is a list of some of the popular plans I am enrolled with:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Midland’s Choice
  • Nebraska Medicaid
  • Tricare
  • United Health Care
  • Many EAP plans.
  • Other Insurance Providers

Prior to your first session, we will check your insurance benefits to determine your payment responsibility. If I am in-network with your plan, we will honor the contracted rate per session. In addition, if I am not in your insurance plan’s network, your plan may have out of network benefits that would cover some of the cost.

Insurance co-payments are due at time of each session.

No insurance? No problem. We can discuss payment options before your first session.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

You may choose private (out-of-pocket) payment or use your insurance. Accepted forms of payment include:

  • Cash
  • Debit card
  • Credit card

I can also accept Eligible Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards. Personal checks are not accepted until a consistent professional relationship has been established.

DO YOU OFFER TELETHERAPY (VIDEO BASED COUNSELING)?

Yes. During this time of social distancing, I am pleased to offer therapy sessions via teletherapy so that you can connect to your session right from home if you find it more convenient to meet remotely. The fees for teletherapy do not increase; however, these services may not be covered by your health insurance long-term. Please contact your insurance provider to learn more.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

When your appointment is scheduled, I dedicate that time for your individual session. I realize emergencies come up and you may not be able to keep your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give at least a 24 hours notice so I may be able to reschedule another client during that time slot. In return, I will do my best to reschedule your session in a timely manner.

I STILL HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS.

If you still have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me for more information. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have or discuss therapy options with you.
